We at Parchment United Methodist Church are committed to helping those whom we believe will be future leaders in the Church and the community. The Gordon Lunt Scholarship has been provided by the generous gift of Mr. Gordon Lunt and managed by the Lunt Fund. This scholarship has been created to help deserving United Methodist students attend college, university, or trade school. Students that are members of, or affiliated with, the Parchment United Methodist Church are given priority scholarship consideration. The number of scholarship renewals may be limited, AND YOU MUST APPLY EACH YEAR between January 1 – February 15. To be a candidate for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: 1. BE OF CHRISTIAN FAITH AND PRACTICE, AND A MEMBER OF A UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 3. HAVE A MINIMUM GRADE POINT AVERAGE OF 2.5 5. BE A FULL OR PART-TIME STUDENT (as defined by the school) 6. COMPLETE & SUBMIT THE ENCLOSED APPLICATION WITH YOUR MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPT This is a tuition-based scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded up to $1000 per year, up to a maximum or 4 years. The scholarships will be paid in one installments; however, the university will post the scholarship in two parts. one-half for the Fall semester, and the balance for the following Spring semester. If you are awarded a Lunt Scholarship you will be responsible for providing the following information to the office of Parchment United Methodist Church, 225 Glendale Blvd. Parchment MI 49004, Attention Lunt Scholarship by August 1 for Fall semester, and December 1 for Spring semester. 2. Tuition due date. 3. The appropriate office and full address at the school to which Scholarship payments are to be sent. 4. If there is a change in your college, university, or trade school you must submit new credentials. We request that recipients and their families be present at Parchment Church on Graduation and Honors Sunday, the second Sunday in June, at the 10:30 a.m. service for the official announcement and recognition. Applications will be accepted January 1 – February 15 of the academic year beginning the following Fall. The completed application must be postmarked no later than February 15.
